Eternity TTRPG Empyrean

Empyrean Overview

The Ancient Empyrean were once Humans who, along with what came to be the Ateri, developed a magical artifact – the “Gift of Kings” – that allowed them to transcend their Human nature. The slaves of this elite class came to call the newly-formed Empyreans “fallen” Humans, dark elfs, or dark fey. Of a similar physique to Ateri, all Empyreans have blue-tinted skin. When their magic manifests fully, Empyreans may even transform into terrifying Lich (undead).

Empyreans never age, and it is looked down upon in the culture to have children, as they are born Human – not Empyrean. In order for children of Empyrean to become like their parents, they must go through the same magical ritual as their ancestors.

Empyrean attempt to control all aspects of life. They believe in striking first to protect oneself. They also believe in punishing enemies of theirs so thoroughly that no future protection is ever again required.

These “dark elfs” use magic of all kinds to alter nature from its original form to best fit their needs. Empyreans are highly protective of their own, but only so that their image as a Race is maintained. In reality, most Empyreans care only and entirely for themselves.
