Pyromancer
"Only those born near the summer solstice possess powers like myself. We are rare indeed."

Pyromancer Overview
Sometimes known as the "living flame," these masters of elemental fire know no bounds concerning the rules of magic. Flames of all kinds dance on their palms at a mere thought, and with concentration comes annihilation.
Though pyromancy was known to the ancient Yzarc before even the Eternal Wars, the art was not taught to humans for some time thereafter, contributing to the growing unease at the "beginning of time."
Pyromancer Class Strengths
Note that these values are not specifically used in Eternity TTRPG. Instead, these representative stats are meant to provide an overall idea of how the class plays. Definitions of these representations are provided below, which do directly align with the Eternity TTRPG system.
Pyromancers have the following "class stats":
- 10 Attack
- 5 Defense
- 3 Intuition
- 10 Magic
- 1 Special
- 3 Quickness
- 5 Utility
- 8 Versatility

Value Definitions
The following stat definitions roughly cover the class' strengths and weaknesses, in a representational way.
- Attack: the overall ability of the class to deal damage and set the tempo in a battle.
- Defense: the innate ability of the class to reduce damage and negative effects taken, both from physical and magical attacks.
- Intuition: represents skills such as perception, stealth, or sixth-sense abilities to help them avoid otherwise unforeseeable harm.
- Magic: the innate ability of the class to manipulate the very fabric of Altius and The Dream, turning those powers to their will.
- Special: not all unique "powers" are magical in nature, and some classes have magic-like, "special" abilities.
- Quickness: the overall speed, mobility, and initiative of the class.
- Utility: the ability of the class to bolster allies, debilitate enemies, or provide useful effects in various out-of-combat situations.
- Versatility: the class' ability to adapt to any situation or environment, both in and out of combat.
Pyromancer Stat Bonuses
Pyromancers gain stat bonuses upon leveling up, based upon the "Critical Option" chosen for each ability. These class-based stat bonuses provide roughly half of the overall stat benefits for your character, making them integral to your character's advancement.
The three categories of stat bonuses/ specialization for pyromancers are: flames of the abyss (+1 Faith), magic of the silver lands (+2 Will and +1 Resilience), and elemental fire (+1 Range).
Specialization | Bonus |
---|---|
Flames of the Abyss | +1Faith |
Magic of the Silver Lands | +2Will and +1Resilience |
Elemental Fire | +1Range |
Pyromancer Roleplay Powers
In Eternity TTRPG, any racial power, spell, or ability may be used in or out of combat. However, each class does have its own unique set of "Roleplay Powers," which are designed to enable players to feel truly outstanding in ways that are unique from the rest of their adventuring party.
Roleplay Powers either provide auto-successes on specific skill or knowledge checks related to the class, or provide unique effects and powers that help players feel like they're experiencing what it's like to live in the world of Eternity TTRPG with their chosen class.
Fire Magic
Create fire at-will, manipulate, or put out fire, up to your current Level multiplied by your body size, in total volume.

Pyromancer Playstyle
The Pyromancer class is best played as an all-out magic damage-dealer. However, it's also possible for them to support the party with fire-based magic that provides buffs, or by utilizing Wisdom-reducing or dispelling effects.
For attacking, you have a wide array of spells such as "Abyssal Flare" to damage a single target, or "Phoenix Flame" and "Pyro Storm" to damage multiple targets at once. "Burning Image" also allows you to damage an enemy while also teleporting, "Magma" creates fire all around you (which can help to protect you), and "Everburn" increases the effectiveness of many of your spells.
Meanwhile, you can support allies with "Fire Augmentation" to increase the effects of their attacks, cast "Meltdown" to reduce targets' Wisdom (and ability to use Criticals), and dispel magical and maintained effects with "Purifying Flare."
Finally, "Fire & Brimstone" boosts the power of your pyromancer spells, at the cost of having lowered defensive stats for its duration - perfect if you have allies who can protect you from the front lines while you rain down fiery spells from afar.
Pyromancer Lore
Meanwhile, Sellen, the old worn out pyromancer, had grown worried about the adventurers and the large amount of time it had been since anyone had seen or heard any news of them. Hoping to find the missing heroes, he called upon the three young adults he had harbored in his home since they were children - Palin, Thangoruin, and Artemis.
Traveling alone through Altius in years past, as a young boy, Thangoruin had been found by Sellen Verinost, who was even at that time, a master pyromancer. Sellen became Thangoruin’s mentor, helping him understand both Vyros and the world around him. Eventually, Sellen adopted Thangoruin as his own son, forgiving the adolescent’s bloody past. Over time, Thangoruin had become a promising pyromancer.
Over the years, in fact, Sellen had been training both Thangoruin and Artemis in the ways of pyromancy. And furthermore, Palin had recently begun studying some old manuals of his of the ancient paladin order; thus Sellen did not fear for their safety in the wilderness.
