Paladin
"I don't live to do 'what's right.' But I do follow the path that I believe in, with all my being."

Paladin Overview
A righteous upholder of the Eternals and their individual wills – especially those of the fallen Hy-Rasyl and Rhaoko, the Eternal of redemption. The Paladin mixes the arts of the blade, healing, and defensive Spells.
It is the genuine desire of the Paladin to be devoted to the Eternal who has called him to his order. In this devotion, the Paladin is the upholder of the Eternal who called him, forevermore. The only known Eternal to have called Paladins to lives of devotion in recent times is Rhaoko.
A Paladin cannot be called to service without being given the calling by an Eternal. Though one may attempt to gain the powers of a Paladin with training alone, the true fruits cannot come, and the true power cannot be attained without inward revelation from an Eternal.
Paladin Class Strengths
Note that these values are not specifically used in Eternity TTRPG. Instead, these representative stats are meant to provide an overall idea of how the class plays. Definitions of these representations are provided below, which do directly align with the Eternity TTRPG system.
Paladins have the following "class stats":
- 7 Attack
- 10 Defense
- 3 Intuition
- 7 Magic
- 5 Special
- 0 Quickness
- 5 Utility
- 8 Versatility

Value Definitions
The following stat definitions roughly cover the class' strengths and weaknesses, in a representational way.
- Attack: the overall ability of the class to deal damage and set the tempo in a battle.
- Defense: the innate ability of the class to reduce damage and negative effects taken, both from physical and magical attacks.
- Intuition: represents skills such as perception, stealth, or sixth-sense abilities to help them avoid otherwise unforeseeable harm.
- Magic: the innate ability of the class to manipulate the very fabric of Altius and The Dream, turning those powers to their will.
- Special: not all unique "powers" are magical in nature, and some classes have magic-like, "special" abilities.
- Quickness: the overall speed, mobility, and initiative of the class.
- Utility: the ability of the class to bolster allies, debilitate enemies, or provide useful effects in various out-of-combat situations.
- Versatility: the class' ability to adapt to any situation or environment, both in and out of combat.
Paladin Stat Bonuses
Paladins gain stat bonuses upon leveling up, based upon the "Critical Option" chosen for each ability. These class-based stat bonuses provide roughly half of the overall stat benefits for your character, making them integral to your character's advancement.
The three categories of stat bonuses/ specialization for paladins are: divine sword (+1 Strike Bonus or +1 Faith), healing light (+1 Inspiration), and self-sacrificing (+2 Dodge and +1 Resilience).
Specialization | Bonus |
---|---|
Divine Sword | +1Strike Bonus or +1Faith |
Healing Light | +1Inspiration |
Self-Sacrificing | +2Dodge and +1Resilience |
Paladin Roleplay Powers
In Eternity TTRPG, any racial power, spell, or ability may be used in or out of combat. However, each class does have its own unique set of "Roleplay Powers," which are designed to enable players to feel truly outstanding in ways that are unique from the rest of their adventuring party.
Roleplay Powers either provide auto-successes on specific skill or knowledge checks related to the class, or provide unique effects and powers that help players feel like they're experiencing what it's like to live in the world of Eternity TTRPG with their chosen class.
Light Aura
You exude a benevolent “Light Aura.” You automatically detect Shadow Aura units within 100 yards, and you are immune to light damage.
Hand of Peace
Auto success against Fate Rolls related to persuading NPCs to avoid conflict, which the Storyteller deems as “non-critical” to the story.
Prayer of Light
Create light that only fades at your will, and reaches up to your current Level multiplied by 5ft in distance. Negates "Prayer of Shadows."

Paladin Playstyle
The Paladin class is usually played to attack enemies aggressively, defend allies, or provide healing. However, it's also possible for them to perform any combination of those roles including all three at the same time, or each separately, depending on the circumstance.
For defending, "Light Aura" and "Crystal Aegis" can provide you with total damage immunity, while "Holy Blaze" allows you to effectively taunt enemies. Meanwhile, "Peacekeeper," "Light's Wrath," and "God Save the Queen" provide you with a wide array of healing effects for various situations. "Judgment" gives you the option to attack while healing allies, and "Reckoning" is a powerful Ability to hammer foes.
Finally, "Heart of Light" boosts the power of numerous paladin effects, and "Resonance" gives you a continual way to dispel enemy buffs, or ally debuffs, to keep the tide of battle in your favor.
Paladin Lore
Leader of the Forsaken Sanctum, Ondscioth was classically trained as a Paladin in the High Temple of Hy-Rasyl – the most strict and finest Paladin study in Altius. There he was taught about Hy-Rasyl’s ideals and path to holiness. Self-sacrifice, love, compassion, strength, honor, divinity.
Many have likened Ondscioth as the human version of Saint Ranroth. Both excelled in their education. Quick of mind, excellent with magic, powerful with their swords, capable in the healing arts, ambitious, respected. Both lacked a connection with any of the divine elements, focusing on their tasks and talents instead of their hearts.
Now, Ondscioth scoffs at the “ideals” of Hy-Rasyl and berates those who follow a “dead god." He hates the dark arts and seeks to kill anyone practicing black magic. He is merciless and without compassion. He is elitist to the core but is strongly proud of his Paladin army. He believes their mission to be paramount to the ethical purging of Altius.
